Volunteers will serve with International Seafarers Ministry of Miami to step aboard a major cruise ship to minister directly to the crew members who serve on board during their limited time off while the ship is docked. Crew members come from a wide range of nationalities, cultures, and faith backgrounds, including South Africa, the Philippines, India, China, Peru, Colombia, and Zimbabwe.

Volunteers will spend approximately four to five hours on board engaging crew members in conversation, offering encouragement, praying with those who request it, and sharing the hope of Christ. Volunteers will bless them in practical ways by distributing small items and gift cards.

This project provides a unique cross-cultural missions experience by bringing the gospel to the nations through serving those who sail across them. Volunteers should be prepared and comfortable to share with people from different worldviews and cultures. While English proficiency varies, all crew members communicate in English to some degree.

*Special note: Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and will be subject to an additional background check and registration. A valid ID will be required the day of. Volunteers will also be transported from the hub to the port and back to the hub.

❤️ Your Gift of Love Changes Lives even abroad!

When you give, you help bring the hope, comfort, and saving love of Jesus Christ to seafarers from every corner of the world—many of whom are far from home, weary, and in need of encouragement.

Your generosity allows us to place Bibles and Christian literature into their hands, offer prayer and pastoral care, and create a welcoming place where they are seen, heard, and reminded that God has not forgotten them. For some, this is their first encounter with the Gospel; for others, it is a timely reminder of God’s faithfulness in a lonely season.

Every gift—large or small—makes an immediate and eternal difference. Thank you for partnering with us and for being a living expression of Christ’s love to those who serve at sea.
