Project Sharing Christmas Around the World
Christmas Missions: From Miami to the Nations
A gift for a seafarer. A blessing for a family. An opportunity to share the love of Christ.
This Christmas, your church, business, organization, or family can help bring joy to the men and women who serve aboard cruise and cargo ships at PortMiami—and extend that kindness to their families around the world.
Through Project Sharing Christmas Around the World, the International Seafarer Ministry of Miami is bringing together practical care items, clothing, toys, and Christmas gifts for international seafarers.
Churches, let’s do missions together. Businesses, partners, and friends—there is a place for you, too.
From Miami to the Nations
Many seafarers spend months at sea, far from their spouses, children, and parents. Their time ashore may be brief, but a warm welcome and a thoughtful gift can remind them that they are remembered and appreciated.
Our hospitality center at PortMiami is their home away from home: a place to rest, connect with loved ones, enjoy refreshments, and find friendship.
This project adds a special Christmas blessing to that welcome. Gift bags and shoebox-sized care packages will contain useful items for seafarers, along with clothing and toys they can take home to their families when their contracts end.
A gift given in Miami can become a blessing in a home thousands of miles away.
Sharing Christ’s Love Through Practical Care
Our Christian faith inspires us to welcome and serve our neighbors with love, generosity, and respect.
We welcome seafarers from all countries and religious backgrounds. Gifts and hospitality are offered freely, without requiring participation in prayer, worship, or religious conversations.
For churches, this is an opportunity to participate in international missions through personal relationships and practical acts of kindness—right here in Miami.
What You Can Donate
Practical items for seafarers
New, unopened toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and shampoo.
New socks and other small personal essentials.
Compact, useful items that fit easily in a gift bag or care package.
Clothing and gifts for their families
New or gently used clothing, freshly washed and in excellent condition.
New or gently used toys that are clean, complete, and working.
Small children’s books, puzzles, and games that are easy to pack.
Please choose items you would feel happy giving to someone you love. Compact, lightweight donations are especially helpful because seafarers have limited luggage space when traveling home.
Please contact us before organizing a collection or delivering donations so we can coordinate current needs, packing, and drop-off arrangements.
Choose Your Way to Help
Churches and Ministry Groups
Make this a Christmas missions project for your congregation. Organize a collection, host a packing gathering, sponsor gift supplies, or help fund the project.
Children’s ministries, youth groups, small groups, and families can participate together. A simple handwritten message of encouragement can make a gift even more personal.
Businesses and Sponsors
Help provide the supplies that make this project possible. Your business can contribute products, organize an employee collection, fund gift purchases, or provide bags, boxes, and packing materials.
Contact us to discuss a contribution that fits your organization and the project’s current needs.
Community Partners
Bring your network, resources, and volunteers together to help us reach more seafarers. We welcome collaboration with schools, community organizations, maritime partners, and service groups.
Individuals and Families
You can make a difference through a financial gift, a few carefully selected items, or time spent helping prepare gifts. Every contribution helps us offer a thoughtful welcome.
Help Make the Gifts Possible
Financial contributions allow us to purchase needed items, fill gaps in donated supplies, and prepare gifts for distribution.
Your generosity also helps sustain the hospitality ministry that welcomes seafarers throughout the year.
When giving, please identify your contribution as “Project Sharing Christmas” so we know your intended purpose.

Let’s Share Christmas Around the World
You may never travel to the countries these seafarers call home. But through your generosity, you can welcome someone from those nations, brighten their day, and help them bring something special home to their family.
Join us in sharing the love of Christ—one welcome, one gift, and one seafarer at a time.
